This another Cross Country race in the snow.

Why did I select this image?
There was a previous race and I had walked part of the course and found this corner
- there was a lot of mud, spectators were on a hill behind the runners and there was a curve in the circuit
- could see more of the runners
This was early in the race so the runners were still bunched
I liked the shapes- square in the front row, triangle for group of runners, arc for spectators- curved lines are more sensual.
2 runners on left and spectators on right provided stops to keep the eye in the image -
there was contrast between the mud and the snow

Runner 83 is Hayley Yelling of England
- Hayley won the ladies European XC in 2004 at Haringsdorf and in 2009 in Dublin.

This was one of the best days I had taking photographs.
